How to beat the interview heat

What does a job interview mean to you? How do you react the day before the ‘I’ day? Do you sleep well? Or do you continue tossing and turning all night long?

Different people react differently to the interview process. You may have your own way of dealing with the stress of job interviews. However, if you recognize the following reactions before each interview, you need to do something about it.

You suffer from job interview blues if

  • You endure shaky legs
  • Incoherent thoughts
  • Headache
  • Trembling hands
  • Breathing trouble
  • Thinking something bad is going to happen

Such reactions will not only make you unwell, you will look nervous before the interviewers and may flunk the interview session too.

There are ways to take care of the interview fright and approach the table with confidence. All you need to do is work on your nerves and keep yourself from indulging into negative thoughts.

The first favor you can do to yourself is getting a good night sleep. Sleep relaxes the mind and prepares you to face the music in your best self. If you go into the interview room in your sleep deprived state, you will look tired and this state will not help you in any way.

A healthy breakfast will give you a great start. Prepare light breakfast and eat heartily. It will make you feel energetic throughout the day. Do not make the mistake of missing breakfast. Try to give the spicy and heavy meal a miss as you may suffer from a stomach upset.

Pep talking is a great way of beating the heat of tension out of your system. Tell yourself that you can do well in the interview room. With this surge of confidence, walk, face the interviewers and get the job. Have faith in yourself and sell yourself high.
